"We will take every possible step for recovery of their bodies so that their families can see them for consoling," the prime minister said while talking to the families of Raja Azad and Sajid Naeem here after expressing commiseration at their residence in Jandathy Banghion and Hurna Mara, respectively, near Rawalakot.
Speaker Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Sayyab Khalid, Minister of Health Yaqub Khan and officials of AJK govt departments were also accompanying the prime minister who also gave the cheques of Rs 1,00,000 to each family.
"The government of Pakistan is utilising diplomatic and extra-diplomatic channels to ensure recovery of the bodies" Sikandar told the grief-stricken families of Sajid and Azad.
He expressed hope that the government of Pakistan would not leave any stone unturned in the efforts for obtaining and bringing the bodies home.
The prime minister termed the murders of Sajid Naheem and Raja Azad as an inhuman and un-Islamic act.
He also expressed condolence with the families on behalf of Pakistan prime minister Shujaat Husain.
The prime minister said that after this gruesome act (killing of Azad and Sajid) the sympathies of Kashmiris and Pakistanis for Iraqis have diminished.
The premier appealed to international human rights organisations to provide help in searching the bodies and to bring them home.
Meanwhile, protest demonstrations were staged in various towns and cities across AJK against the killing of Raja Azad and Sajid Naeem by captors in Iraq. These demos were held in Jandathy, Paniola, Chinari, Mujahidabad and Rawalakot.
Protestors were carrying placards and banners inscribed with anti-Musharraf and anti-US slogans and held President Pervez Musharraf responsible for the murders of raja Azad and Sajid Naeem claiming that he (Musharraf) did not categorically announce that Pakistan would not send its troops to Iraq.
Earlier, the villagers and relatives of Raja Azad in Jandathy village had stopped the PTV team from coverage of bereaved families in presence of speaker Sayyab Khalid alleging that PTV remained unconcerned about the whole issue and it was even airing dance and songs when private channels were breaking the news of killing of Azad and Sajid.
